Legendary comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short are bringing their "The Dukes of Funnytown" tour to the Louisville Palace, 625 S Fourth St.

The two titans of comedy are headed to Louisville this September with a stage show filled with rapid-fire jokes and music thanks to Martin, a Grammy-winning banjo player, and his backing band, Steep Canyon Rangers, along with keyboardist and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" band member Jeff Babko.

Known to a new generation for their Emmy-winning comedy "Only Murders in the Building," Martin, 78, and Short, 73, came up during the 1970s stand-up and sketch comedy boom. The longtime friends and collaborators starred in their first movie together in the 1986 film "Three Amigos!," which also included "Saturday Night Live" veteran Chevy Chase.

Martin and Short have been touring together since 2015 when they launched their first live show entitled “A Very Stupid Conversation.” More recently, their "Only Murders in the Building" show, which also stars Selena Gomez, has become Hulu's most-watched show, according to press materials.

Promoters described the “Funnytown” show as having a “rapid-fire pace with little set-up and big punch lines as they mock Hollywood and the fickle nature of celebrity,” as well as roasting each other.

Tickets for the Friday, Sept. 20 show of "The Dukes of Funnytown" at the Louisville Palace start at $118 and are now on sale at concerts.livenation.com.
