Steve Burton Exits 'Days of Our Lives' Once Again With Farewell Message

Steve Burton

Steve Burton is saying goodbye to his Days of Our Lives character once and for all.

The veteran soap actor, who made his daytime television debut on the long-running series in 1988, is once again exiting Days of Our Lives

Just one year after reprising his role as Harris Michaels, Burton, 53, announced on Wednesday, Jan. 3. that he had filmed his final episode—and he has plenty of gratitude for the fans who have stood by him.

"Wow! Well, I just shot my final scenes here at Days of Our Lives," he said in a video uploaded to his Daily Drama YouTube channel on Wednesday. "I just want to say thank you so much to the cast, to the crew, to Days, Everybody."

"It's been amazing," he added. "I can't believe it's been a year already." In 2022, Burton reprised his role on the spinoff Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, and returned to Days Of Our Lives the following year.

But now, he appears to be saying farewell for good this time.

"Thank you so much to the fans," he continued in his video message. "It's just, I'm always so full of gratitude. So thank you."

But before he signed off, Burton made sure to let fans know that he still has exciting work to do in the future, telling followers to "stay tuned" for what's to come.

We're not sure what Burton will do next, as he already has been quite prolific in his soap opera career, earning Emmy Awards for roles on both Young and the Restless and General Hospital. (He was let go from General Hospital in 2021 as a result of COVID-19 vaccine mandates).

For now, fans can catch up with Burton, plus Bradford Anderson on their Daily Drama podcast.
