Stephanie Beatriz remembers Andre Braugher with iconic Captain Holt quote on 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

Fans and co-stars are remembering the life of Andre Braugher after the actor's death. Just 61 years old, Braugher appeared in TV shows like "Homicide" as Detective Franker Pemberton in the 1990s and most recently in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" as Captain Raymond Holt.

Texan Stephanie Beatriz appeared alongside Braugher as Detective Rose Diaz in the comedy show, with a special bond as characters who rarely show emotion. The two also represented the LGBTQ community on the show, with Holt's orientation as a gay man playing core part of the show's pilot and Diaz's coming out as a bisexual woman in a storyline in later episodes.

In a video posted on Instagram, Beatriz shared a rare show of emotion from Holt in the fifth season of the scripted show. The episode focuses on her character's challenge of coming out to her family. In a moment between the two, Braugher hugs Beatriz after leaving her with an inspiring message.

"Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place," Braugher said.

The post has over 2.5 million views and 400,000 likes, with comments from individuals saying the scene helped them come out, too.

Several other co-stars posted remembrances, too.
