Only minor injuries reported in crash that closed State Route 43 in Streetsboro Wednesday

Only minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 43 in Streetsboro early Wednesday afternoon.

Streetsboro Police Lt. Rich Polivka said the crash happened when a southbound 2005 Toyota Corona went through a red light at the Ethan Avenue/Centre Drive intersection and was struck by an eastbound box truck coming off of Ethan.

EMS took the Toyota's driver, an 81-year-old Aurora man, to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center with reported minor injuries. No injuries were reported to the truck's driver, a 65-year-old Cleveland man.

Polivka said the Aurora man was cited for a red light violation. State Route 43 was closed for about 35 minutes.
