MEYERSDALE ― The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was called Wednesday in a terroristic threats incident in the borough.

State police said they received numerous telephone calls in the early morning hours concerning a male walking around with a firearm in the area with apartments along Large Street. They reported the male was threatening harm to others in the area.

Upon arrival, troopers were unsuccessful in numerous attempts to make contact with the man, identified as Scott Herring, and SERT was called to assist. Herring eventually was taken into custody and arraigned in local court.
