TEAM TITLES

Sammamish swept the field in all four team events on Thursday, the unquestioned state champions on their home floor.

The Redhawks notched scores of 45.150 in the vault event, 42.500 on the bars, 45.925 on the beam, and an even 46.000 on the floor. Each bested 43 other programs in attendance at Sammamish High School and combined for a winning score of 179.575.

And yet, the margin remained thin all afternoon. Mead cracked the top four in all team events, good for a score of 174.000 and the second-place trophy.

A handful of locals scattered Thursday’s leaderboard, including North Thurston, whose second-place team finish in vault (43.700) propelled the Rams to an overall sixth-place finish.

North Kitsap finished either sixth or seventh in all four events Thursday, eventually seventh-place overall finishers. Tood Beamer took ninth and Thomas Jefferson rounded out the top 10.

Lincoln (11th), Enumclaw (12th), and Bonney Lake (14th) cracked the top 15.
