State’s Congressional leaders seem more interested in national stage than voter needs | Opinion

Dissatisfied voter speaks out

I never received a response from Nancy Mace, Lindsey Graham or Tim Scott about an increase in homeowners’ insurance.

They are not representing our local problems, but are on TV about international, foreign policy issues.

We have no representation for South Carolina in Congress.

It is time to primary them for individuals who will represent the citizens of our state, who care about our local problems, and stay off the media stage which plays to their egos.

Is Mace auditioning for #2?

Issac Bailey hit the nail on the head in his column about Nancy Mace.

For someone who presented herself as somewhat moderate when she first ran for Congress, her behavior has been increasingly off the rails.

Her pathetic grandstanding, her contempt for facts, and her crass use of language point to one thing – she’s auditioning to be Trump’s running mate.

A perfect match.

Amend transgender bill

I am a young LGBTQ+ Democrat, but I am strongly opposed to the idea of minors receiving gender transition surgeries.

That is why I support the majority of the language in South Carolina House Bill 4624 (H.4624), which was recently pre-filed by some Republican lawmakers, but I cannot support the bill as written because it would force educators to out students who are questioning their gender to their parents.

There are some cases in which information a student tells a teacher should stay between them.

And I know good and well that most people would not have wanted their teacher to tell their parents everything they told them when they were in school.

I know most parents just want what is best for their kids and that’s why parents should create an environment in which their kids know their parents will love them no matter what and their kids want to come out to them.

In my opinion, lawmakers should amend H. 4624 and remove points 2/B of section two of the bill and pass the rest of the bill.

Ammunition should be taxed

I urge our representatives at the State House to vote down a bill by Rep. Ashley Trantham (R-Greenville) to make small arms ammunition non-taxable.

Let’s use the tax on ammunition to fund better policing or to pay the hospital bills of people, often children, who are shot by accident.

Trump will never give up election shenanigans

According to recent reporting, Donald Trump has stated that if he loses the election, he will not

not declare he lost it, but will say the election was stolen again from him. This could help the Democrats because, in my mind, if Trump even looks like he will lose the election, he will tell MAGA supporters not to go to polls because the election is fixed.

It certainly will not help Haley or DeSantis because they are both under the impression they will get the MAGA votes.

They both have shown how afraid they are of Trump by not attacking his character, morals and many other bad things he has done. God forbid either of them get to be president. They would be shaking in their boots when meeting the Russian and China presidents if they don’t have the courage to go after a man that has been charged with 91 felonies.

We will get our country back somehow.

Maybe not with Biden who is a weak president, but with someone who has character and not wearing an orange jump suit.

God bless America.
