Games, anime at Canal Fulton library

CANAL FULTON − Canal Fulton Public Library has scheduled the following programs. Register by calling 330-854-4148.

  • Monday, 5:30 p.m. − Teen Anime Club. Fans can enjoy anime and snacks at this teens and tweens event. For grades 6-12. Registration is appreciated, but not required.

  • Monday, 6:40 p.m. − Asian Culture Club: Lunar New Year. Celebrate the Year of the Dragon and focus on the Lunar New Year through various activities using the Kahoot! App. Bring a personal device to participate. This program 10 minutes after Teen Anime Club is teen-focused, but open to everyone. Registration is appreciated, but not required.

  • Saturday, 1 p.m. − Adult and Teen Video Game Free Play: Super Smash Bros. This is an open play session of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Nintendo Switch for adults and teens (ages 12 and up). Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided. Registration required.

  • Feb. 26, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. − Cutting the Cord to Cable. Learn about tools for broadcast and streaming services. Registration is required.

  • Feb. 27, 5:30 p.m. − Teen Pizza and Game Night. Teens in grades 6 through 12 can enjoy pizza and board games. Registration is appreciated, but not required.

The seminar will offer information on Job and Family Services and getting affordable insurance, primary care doctors, SSI benefits, SSD benefits and VA benefits. It is sponsored by CareSource and Stark County Urban Minority Alcohol & Drug Addiction Outreach Project.

Wind Chime Ball supports women fighting breast cancer

CANTON − The Josette Beddell Memorial Foundation's signature event, the 2024 Wind Chime Ball, set to take place Saturday at La Pizzaria, has sold out, with more than 700 guests expected to attend. The gala aims to raise funds to help women and families affected by breast cancer across the state.

Since its inception in 2010, the Josette Beddell Memorial Foundation has distributed over $1.2 million in aid. For more information about the foundation and the 2024 Wind Chime Ball, visit https://www.josettememorial.org/wcb. Donations are still being accepted for this event.

Jersey Nights show Saturday at the Palace

CANTON − Jersey Nights, a show celebrating Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Palace Theatre, 605 Market Ave. N.

McKinley Museum to provide eclipse information

CANTON − Hoover-Price Planetarium staff at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum, 800 McKinley Monument Drive, will host an eclipse information table at the museum from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday and March 23.

They will share information regarding the April 8 total solar eclipse, including the location of the path of totality, viewing timeline for your location, how to prepare, what to expect, and how to safely view the eclipse.

Museum visitors can bring a cereal box or shoe box, and the planetarium staff will help create a safe projection box. The Universe at Large planetarium programs will feature more eclipse information and a night sky tour. Eclipse viewing glasses are available for purchase at the Museum Shoppe.

Forum to address Israeli-Palestinian conflict

CANTON − Malone University’s next Worldview Forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday will address the topic of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and related national conflicts.

The conversation will consider what people can do in Northeast Ohio to promote healing and nonviolence. The free event will be held in the Johnson Center, 2600 Cleveland Ave. NW, and is open to the public.

The forum’s moderator will be Scott Waalkes, professor of international politics. Featured on the panel will be Rabbi David Komerofsky of Temple Israel, and Steve Sosebee, the co-founder, president/CEO of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, a U.S.-based nonprofit humanitarian medical relief organization.

'American Fiction’ showing this weekend

Children can learn about solving crimes

JACKSON TWP. − The Stark Library Jackson Community Branch, 7487 Fulton Drive NW, will offer the program "The Chemistry Behind Crime Solving" from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the meeting room. The program is suitable for children from kindergarten through tweens.
