Fred and Ginger Date Night

What: Cut a rug like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers with your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day. The Orpheum Theatre is offering Fred & Ginger Date Night, pairing an onstage couple’s foxtrot class with a screening of the classic film Top Hat (1935). This event is sponsored by Young Dance Inc., who will also be conducting the 30-minute dance workshop. Specialty drinks will be offered at the concession stand. Those wanting to attend the film but not the dance lesson are certainly welcome and should arrive sometime around 8 p.m.

The Not-So Mysterious Disappearance of Cinderella

What: This hilarious new version of Cinderella offers a much more contemporary twist to the old tale. This time, Cinderella goes missing and everyone in the kingdom is a suspect. Packed with humor, fresh takes on classic characters, and plenty of pop-culture references.

Senior Studios: Little Loom Weaving

What: Little looms are pocket-sized pieces that you can take with you wherever you go and use very small amounts of fiber. These tiny weavings can produce jewelry, coasters, and home décor. They are also a therapeutic way to experience and experiment with fiber art. Learn basic techniques, tools, starting and finishing. Try geometric weaving, loop-making, fringing, then take your little loom home to make more. There will be lots of fiber choices and tools to make simple, mini woven gems.

Jazz Night Fundraiser and Silent Auction

What: Come show your support with a night of music, dancing, drinks and dinner. There will be a silent auction featuring primarily local businesses with a few surprise entries such as the Chicago White Sox. Music by the Cat Gaddis band. Hosted by the Support Group for African American Affairs.

Kids Month Exhibit Opening
