SOUTH BEND — St. Margaret’s House's “Undie 500” continues through May 24, during which it asks the public to donate brand-new underwear and bras for the women and children that the nonprofit day center serves.

Donations may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the center in downtown, 117 N. Lafayette Blvd., though you can drop them off until 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.

The goal is to collect 5,000 items. Organizers say the event emphasizes St. Margaret’s House's mission to affirm the dignity of each woman who walks through its doors. It distributes more than 4,000 pairs of new underwear and bras each year.

Alternatively, cash donations may be made at stmargaretshouse.org.
