Spring Festival and Auction set at Holmes County Training Center

The 46th annual Spring Festival and Auction is a unique opportunity to raise money for a good cause and have fun doing it. Proceeds benefit Holmes County children and adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of practical ways.

The event takes place Friday and Saturday at the Holmes County Board of Developmental Disabilities campus, 8001 Township Road 574, Holmesville.

Locals and visitors to the area gather each year to experience everything from the delicious bake sale, soup and sandwiches and chicken barbecue to the exciting and spectacular raffle prizes. This year, the raffle includes: A Ferris Mower with an estimated value of $7,500; $2,000 Charm Merchants Gift Card; e-bike estimated at $2000; Pioneer Trails gift gard valued at $750 and a Bosch mixer with an estimated value of $500.

Of course, the craft and furniture auction is not to be missed and includes a wide variety of locally-made items. Other auction items include an Oakridge hunting blind, cooler stocked with meat, Hustler mower, and much more.

Friday evening, those attending will enjoy live music from Liberated Band, Lena Mullet and Bridgestone closing out the evening.

Activities will include open volleyball, children's games and more.

The schedule of events is:

Friday

  • Viewing of quilts and crafts

  • Bake sale, 3-10 p.m.

  • Soup and sandwiches, 5-10 p.m.

  • Entertainment, 6-9 p.m.

  • Open volleyball, 6 p.m.-midnight

Saturday

  • Breakfast, 7-10 a.m.

  • Bake sale, 7 a.m. to sold out

  • Craft and furniture auction, 9 a.m.

  • Silent auction, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Children’s games, 9 -11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.

  • Chicken barbecue, 11:30 a.m. to sold out

  • Quilt auction, noon

  • Special auction/raffle, 12:30 p.m.
