Spring Carnival, Mother's Day craft festival: Seacoast things to do

Happy Mother's Day weekend! This weekend is filled with plenty of entertainment for Mom or anyone else looking for something to get out and do. Portsmouth High School students showcase their art and talent at 3S Artspace, Cisco Brewers Portsmouth is hosting its annual Spring Carnival, and Mother's Day weekend Craft Festival hits Hampton Falls.

What: PHS’ 2nd annual Fine Arts Night at 3S Artspace is an opportunity for student artists, grades 9 – 12, to showcase their artistic accomplishments in a student-exclusive art exhibit held in a professional space. There will also be live performances by student musicians and writers, and the event will be catered by Portsmouth High School’s culinary students.

‘The Legend of Georgia McBride’ at The Players’ Ring

What: Casey is an Elvis impersonator with everything going for him, including a flashy sequin jumpsuit. But just like that he loses his gig, rent is overdue and his wife announces a baby on the way. So when Elvis leaves the building and a drag show moves in, “The King” transforms into an all-out queen with the help of some new friends who become the second family Casey never saw coming.

‘The Moon-Spinners Mystery’ at Rochester Opera House

What: Enjoy an adventure set on a modern-day Greek island with Sole City Dance’s newest production, The Moon-Spinners Mystery. The ballet follows Nikki, a young detective grieving the loss of her mother.

Mother’s Day Blues Brunch: Bees Deluxe at The Press Room

Bandits on the Run at The Music Hall Lounge

What: Bandits on the Run is the musical trio of Adrian Enscoe, Sydney Shepherd, and Regina Strayhorn. Formed upon a chance encounter while busking in the subways of New York City, the Brooklyn based outfit has gone on to receive accolades from NPR Music’s All Songs Considered, American Songwriter, NPR Weekend Edition, and the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project.
