A soda and snack shop is being planned for the Irmo and Lake Murray area.

Quench It! Soda and Snacks, which has a number of locations in other states, has a shop coming to the Murray Crossing shopping center in the 2700 block of North Lake Drive near Irmo. That shopping center is anchored by a Publix grocery store and includes several other businesses, including the recently opened Cheesy Pint Pizzeria.

There is a large banner above the storefront at the north end of the shopping center announcing that Quench It! is “coming soon.”

Quench It! Soda and Snacks currently has several locations in Utah and Texas, according to the company’s website. It has the Columbia market listed in the “Coming Soon and Reserved” section of the locations page on the website.

The menu at Quench It! features a host of special soda mixes. For instance, just one of the more than 30 flavors on its Soda Favorites menu is the Polar Blast, which is Coca-Cola with cherry, vanilla and coconut cream flavoring. It also has a Create Your Own menu, which offers a host of soda bases (from both Pepsi and Coke brands) which can then be enhanced with various syrups, purees, fresh fruit, creams, candies or even vanilla ice cream.

Quench It! also offers snacks including cookies, pretzel bites, nachos and more.

An opening date for the shop near Lake Murray has not been publicly announced.

North Lake Drive through that section near Irmo is a high-traffic road, with Lake Murray off to the west and a number of residential subdivisions nearby. About 28,000 cars per day travel down that section of North Lake, according to S.C. Department of Transportation data.
