Report: Tom Brady earns $500,000 bonus with NFC championship win over Packers

Updated

Sunday was a huge day for Tom Brady.

Not only did he lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers past the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship, earning a spot in his 10th career Super Bowl, but he cashed in a pretty big check in the process.

Brady, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, earned a $500,000 contract incentive bonus after their 31-26 win at Lambeau Field.

That incentive is just the latest Brady’s earned so far this postseason. He secured a $500,000 bonus simply for making it into the playoffs, and then earned $250,000 after beating the Washington Football Team in their wild-card matchup.

Last week’s win against the New Orleans Saints also earned him $500,000, per ESPN, bringing his total bonus to $1.75 million this postseason.

Tom Brady can earn $500,000 bonus with Super Bowl win

Brady has another big bonus looming off in the distance, too.

If he and the Bucs can win the Super Bowl next month, the 43-year-old will earn another $500,000 bonus, according to ESPN.

Not that Brady needs the half million dollars as an incentive for Super Bowl LV, as a win for him would be historic on its own. It would mark Brady’s seventh championship in his career and the first time that a team has won the game in its home stadium, as the game is set to be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. He is already one of just four quarterbacks — along with Peyton Manning, Craig Morton and Kurt Warner — to lead two franchises to the game, too.

The cash, though, would certainly be a nice addition to the hardware he’d bring home.

“It’s been a great journey thus far,” Brady said after the win, via MassLive. “We put the work in and a lot of guys just embraced everything. Really when [coach Bruce Arians] got here last year there were a lot of great things that were happening. A lot of great young players. I just made the decision and love coming to work every day with this group of guys. We worked really hard to get to this point. It was a tough game. Had a few tough games in a row. The next one will be really tough, too.
