Police arrest man for allegedly breaking into Tom Brady's Boston-area mansion early Monday

Police arrested a man for allegedly breaking into the mansion owned by Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen that’s located in Brookline, Massachusetts, NECN reported Monday morning. The family was not home and is living in Florida during the quarterback’s first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Man arrested while sitting on Tom Brady’s couch

According to CBS Boston, the alarms went off before 6 a.m. and the alarm company, using the surveillance cameras, reported someone in the home to police. Police were able to enter using security codes supplied by the alarm company. They reportedly found a man on a couch in the basement.

Brookline police said the suspect is Zanini Cineus, a 34-year-old homeless man.

Brady’s mansion back up for sale

The mansion was up for sale last summer at $39.5 million. Brady and Bündchen took it off the market, then re-listed it earlier this year at $33.9 million. The five-acre, 12,000-square-foot property is no longer listed as for sale by Sotheby’s International Realty. NECN reported that the couple put it back on the market last week with Maggie Gold Seelig to sell privately.

The family, which includes two children, rented the 30,000-square-foot Tampa-area mansion owned by former New York Yankees shortstop and Miami Marlins part-owner Derek Jeter.

Brady’s company received PPP loan; QB reportedly bought boat

Brady, 43, has made headlines recently for his business and purchasing ventures.

Late last week the Small Business Administration released data on the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans given out by the government as part of the $2 trillion COVID-19 relief package in March. Brady’s company, TB12 Inc., received a loan of $960,855.

Brady has made more than $200 million in career earnings and is estimated to be worth about $180 million, per Fox Business. Bündchen, who works as a supermodel, has a net worth of approximately $400 million.

Two days after the data was released, TMZ Sports reported that Brady bought a custom, state-of-the-art boat that cost “around a couple million dollars,” per TMZ. The site had photos of Brady on the boat at the marina.

The Buccaneers (7-5) did not play this week.
