Michael Wilbon Rant Goes Viral: NBA World Reacts
Longtime ESPN personality Michael Wilbon is trending for what he said about Brooklyn Nets stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on Sunday.
Wilbon went off on Durant and Irving following the Nets win over the Knicks on Sunday afternoon.
Irving was unable to play in Sunday’s game at Barclays Center, as he’s unvaccinated. However, due to New York City’s latest rules, he was able to attend the game. Irving sat courtside as he watched his teammates play.
Following the game, Durant took a shot at New York City’s mayor, suggesting he was in need of attention.

Sports fans appear to be somewhat split in their response to Wilbon’s controversial comments.
Mike Wilbon is spot on. The Mayor of New York doesn't need to use Kyrie Irving to get attention. He's the Mayor of New York.

Michael Wilbon is ripping Kevin Durant and he’s 100% correct.

Fellow ESPN personality Jay Williams also had a message for Wilbon.
“I love my man Wilbon but I thought this was about science. How does the science explain Kyrie being allowed to sit courtside with no mask on, dap his teammates up but can not play?” Williams tweeted on Monday.
