Look: Maria Sharapova’s Best Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Photos
Maria Sharapova announced some big personal news on social media on Tuesday.
The legendary tennis player revealed that she is pregnant. Sharapova, 35, made the announcement on her Instagram account.
“Precious beginnings!!! 🤍👼🏻 Eating birthday cake for two has always been my specialty,” she wrote on Instagram.
Sharapova, a Russia native, has accomplished quite a bit in her life, both on and off of the tennis court. On the court, she won Wimbledon in 2004, before winning the U.S. Open in 2006, the Australian Open in 2008 and the French Open in 2012 and ’14.
Off the court, Sharapova was a celebrity, posing for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2006.

Sharapova is one of several notable athletes to pose for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which will release its 2022 edition later this spring.
Other notable tennis stars, like Serena Williams, Genie Bouchard and Anna Kournikova, have also posed for the issue.

Sharapova was among the athletes to be featured in a behind-the-scenes video on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s YouTube page, too.
The 2022 edition of the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue will be out later this year.
