Bucks' Khris Middleton joining NBL's Brisbane Bullets ownership group
Khris Middleton will soon own part of the National Basketball League’s Brisbane Bullets.
The Milwaukee Bucks forward is set to become a minority owner of the Australian professional basketball team, according to The New York Times’ Marc Stein.
The Bullets’ ownership group is led by majority owner Kevin Martin, who spent 12 seasons in the league from 2004-16.
Middleton, twice an NBA All-Star, is this season's second active player to join Brisbane ownership along with Chicago's Thaddeus Young.

Middleton is just the latest NBA player to buy into the NBL. Chicago Bulls POS Thaddeus Young joined Brisbane’s ownership group earlier this season, and Houston Rockets guard John Wall joined the South East Melbourne Phoenix ownership group in November. Victor Oladipo joined the New Zealand Breakers ownership group last year, too. LaMelo Ball tried to purchase the Illawarra Hawks after his short stint in the league, though his quest failed after longtime NBA general manager Bryan Colangelo’s group instead landed the team.
There are 10 teams in the NBL, all but one of which are located in Australia — with the Breakers in Auckland.
Middleton has averaged 20.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game so far this season for the Bucks. The 29-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2012 draft by the Detroit Pistons, but played in just 27 games there during his rookie season. He’s been with Milwaukee ever since, and is in the second year of a five year, $177 million deal.
