Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest showmen in the sports entertainment world. On Wednesday night, the basketball legend solidified that perception — making a memorable debut on TNT’s professional wrestling league, All Elite Wrestling.

Shaq, 48, made his debut in the ring with his larger-than-life personality and frame on full display. Alongside Jade Cargill (also a former basketball player), O’Neal wowed in a mixed tag-team match against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet. The intense matchup kicked off AEW Dynamite: The Crossroads event.

The first memorable moment from the match came when Shaq executed a huge power bomb during his second round against Rhodes. Before picking up the wrestler to slam him on the mat, the Inside the NBA host appeared to give a tribute to the late Brodie Lee — an AEW wrestler who passed away suddenly last year.

Things didn’t end quite as well for the former Lakers center. Later in the match, Rhodes hit Shaq with a running cross-body slam through a table outside of the ring.

Shaq lay unconscious for the remainder of the match before he was taken off in an ambulance (part of the show, obviously). When the host of the event opened the ambulance doors later in the show, O’Neal was no where to be found.

Sports fans everywhere are loving Shaq’s debut performance:

With the way things went last night, this could be the first of many appearances for the basketball analyst.
