Sports Media World Reacts To Gus Johnson’s Performance Today
The college football world was treated to a vintage Gus Johnson performance on Saturday afternoon.
The longtime college basketball and college football announcer was on the call for Saturday’s game between No. 3 Oklahoma and Nebraska. He did not disappoint.
Johnson and Joel Klatt were both on their A-game for the close contest between the Huskers and the Sooners. Oklahoma was able to come away with a close win, 23-16.
The call of the game came when an Oklahoma Sooners defensive player made arguably the interception of the year.

“Man. Gus Johnson is literally the BEST PxP caller ever! Also, WHAT AN AMAZING INT!” one fan tweeted.
“Gus Johnson calling great plays is one of the best things in college football,” another fan added.
Even Nebraska Huskers fan Larry the Cable Guy appreciated Johnson’s performance.
“Lol. Gus Johnson and fox sports just read my tweet. So funny. Gus Johnson is the only guy that could be able to announce curling and make it exciting. Love this guy,” he tweeted.

College football fans are right. There is no one better suited to call an epic play than FOX play-by-play man Gus Johnson.
Hopefully we’ll get plenty more calls like that moving forward this year.
