Longtime Columbus sportscaster Clay Hall, who served as the sports director at Channel 6 is retiring.

“Twenty-nine years have gone by in a flash,” Hall said in a news release shared by the station.

In addition to anchoring sports during WSYX's news broadcasts, Hall also hosted The Football Fever on ABC 6 and FOX 28, a pregame and postgame show that bookended Ohio State games.

“Clay’s outstanding work ethic and excellent reporting on sports and athletes will be greatly missed,” vice president of ABC 6 and FOX 28 Tony D’Angelo said. “Clay has been our quarterback of The Football Fever for nearly thirty years. A legend is retiring, and we couldn’t be happier for Clay and his wife Pat.”

Hall’s last day on the air will be February 29.
