Sony has pushed back multiple film's release dates back to 2024, including the Spider-Man spin-off Kraven the Hunter and the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel.

The screen actors union SAG-AFTRA has recently gone on strike, which means that not only can actors not film any TV shows or movies produced by the studios they are striking against, they can't do any promotional for them either.

It seems that for this reason Sony has decided to delay both films until 2024 (via to Variety), even though both of them are in the bag (at least in terms of filming).

Kraven was originally planned for October 6, and the new Ghostbusters was set for a Christmas release date, but now they have been rescheduled for August 30, 2024 and March 29, 2024, respectively.

Elsewhere next year, fellow Spider-Man spin-off Madame Web has been moved forward by two days to February 14, Bad Boys 4 is set to hit the big screens on June 14, while the third Venom movie is meant to be released on July 12, with the new Karate Kid reboot coming out on December 13.

The Gran Turismo movie is still set to be released next month, despite the actors being unable to promote it. Blumhouse project They Listen, meanwhile, no longer has a release date at all.

At the moment, it's unclear how long the strikes in Hollywood will last, but until then it seems that upcoming TV shows and movies will continue to be affected.

The Ghostbusters sequel is bringing back Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon from Afterlife, and adding Eternals' Kumail Nanjiani, Agents of SHIELD's Patton Oswalt, Doctor Sleep's Emily Alyn Lind, and comedian James Acaster to the cast.

It will be moving the action to New York City, and back to the iconic firehouse from the originals.
