Speed believed to have been a factor in deadly toll booth crash
Police believe speed was an issue in an ugly crash that left a 65-year-old Manchester, N.H., man dead at a toll booth Monday after he lost control of his 2006 Jeep Wrangler.
Richard Cote’s vehicle “rolled over” while headed south on the Everett Turnpike in Bedford shortly after 10 a.m., causing fatal injuries. A second vehicle was hit, which didn’t result in any further injuries. The incident is still under investigation by New Hampshire State Police.
Twitter users called for the concrete and steel toll booths to be removed. A speed limit sign posted at the scene of the crash instructs drivers to pass at 25 mph.
