Specialty lobster roll franchise to open new location in North Myrtle Beach

A New Jersey-based lobster roll chain will open up it’s first South Carolina location in North Myrtle Beach by the end of September.

Mystic Lobster Rolls, named after Mystic Island, New Jersey, is a specialty lobster roll restaurant that has locations in four different states, South Carolina being it’s fifth.

Vincent Azzarit, a Surfside Beach resident, will own the location and run it along with his daughter and son. Azzarit said they hope to open by Sept. 16.

The location will be next to the Kroger on Main Street and the Bagel Factory.

According to Philip Tretola, owner of Mystic Lobster Rolls, the chain uses fresh main cold water lobster meat in every item, and it gets shipped to the restaurant daily.

“I think it’s been a really big game changer, especially for the Myrtle Beach area and the North Myrtle Beach area where there’s really not much choice for lobster rolls,” Tretola said.

Tretola, who started the franchise, recommends the ‘Deep South’ lobster roll, which has chipotle mayo and candied jalapeños, or the ‘Hawaiian’ roll, which has coconut mayo and mango.

Azzarit said that he planned on opening more locations in Horry County in the future, but couldn’t give more definite details.
