Christmas light shows are the perfect way to get in the spirit of the season.

And lucky for Georgians, there are more than enough light shows to see with family and friends.

So, pack up the car, grab the hot cocoa and tune the radio to your favorite Christmas station. It’s time to get this show on the road.

Here are 15 of the Peach State’s best Christmas light shows:

Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza

When: Now — Jan. 1, nightly

Where: downtown Macon, (First St. to MLK Jr. Blvd. and Poplar St. to Cherry St.)

More than one million dazzling lights are set up on 4.5 blocks of beautiful, historic downtown Macon. The light shows are synchronized to music, open nightly and are free to the public.

Horse drawn carriage rides were popular on Dec. 19, during the Main Street Christmas Light Extravaganza. The nightly shows feature over 500,000 lights across four streets synchronized with music from the Macon Pops.

The Ludy Christmas Spectacular

When: Now — Jan. 1, 6-9 p.m.

Where: 5784 Ironstone Drive, Columbus

Decorating for this spectacular light show began in August. The show was featured on ABCs The Great Christmas Light Fight television show in 2014. This show is free and open to the public.

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Garden

When: Now — Jan. 14

Where: 1345 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta

This outdoor light show is an amazing walk through the Atlanta Botanical Gardens with a Christmas twist: the plants, flowers and sculptures come alive at night in lights. Ticket prices range from $27 to $58 for nonmembers; children under 3 are free.

IllumiNights at the Zoo: A Chinese lantern Festival

When: Now — Jan. 15, 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Where: Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Ave. SE, Atlanta

Join in on all the festive fun with illuminated wildlife and beautiful works of art, displayed with sparkly lights and lanterns. Tickets range from $16.99 to $24.99 for nonmembers; children 2 and under are free.

Margaritaville’s Lakeside Lights Spectacular at Lanier Islands

When: Now — Jan. 16

Where: 7650 Lanier Islands Pkwy., Buford

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere and that place is here; grab a drink and take a load off at this extraordinary light show. There are thousands of beautiful lights and scenic high-tech visuals to see; and don’t forget about License to Chill Snow Island with ice skating and tubing.

Holly Jolly Jekyll

When: Now — Jan. 8

Where: Check calendar for list of events for locations

Take a ride on the jolly trolley to see more than a million lights and more than 350 displays across the historic district of Jekyll or wander on your own through the 12 Days of Christmas light displays. The light displays start at Great Dunes Beach Park and run to the Historic District along Shell Road. There’s also a light parade, fireworks and a drive-in movie on the calendar of events.

Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Resort & Gardens

When: Now — Jan. 2

Where: 17617 US-27, Pine Mountain

This light show is celebrating 30 years and there’s no better way to celebrate than having more than 30 dancing trees decked out in dazzling lights. Tickets range from $15 to $35; children 2 and under are free.

Enchanted Garden of Lights at Rock City Gardens

When: Now — Jan. 1

Where: 1400 Patten Road, Lookout Mountain

Experience Rock City Gardens as a bright, colorful winter wonderland this Christmas season. Travel through icy Arctic Kingdom and merry Magical Forest to get in the spirit. Tickets range from $10 to $32; children two and under are free.

Stone Mountain Christmas

When: Now — Jan. 1

Where: 1000 Robert E. Lee Blvd., Stone Mountain

This year’s show will feature a Christmas Drone Show with hundreds of drones floating through and illuminating the winter night sky. There will also be millions of other lights, music to get you in the spirit and maybe a visit from Santa himself. Tickets range from $35 to $45; children 2 and under are free.

December Nights & Holiday Lights at Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens

When: Now — Dec. 24

Where: 2 Canebrake Road, Savannah

Join in on a coastal Christmas in Savannah; this light show covers almost five acres and has a life-size Advent calendar. There are s’mores stations and coffee bars. Also, Santa will be making nightly visits. Tickets are $15; children 3 and under are free.

Winter WonderLights

When: Now — Jan. 8

Where: 2450 S. Milledge Ave., Athens

Go down Candy Cane Lane, a half-mile trail, and experience the lights and music of the season; along the way, there will be hot chocolate to keep you warm and s’mores stations to keep you happy. Tickets are $15; children 3 and under are free.

Holiday Lights at Barnsley Resort

When: Now — Jan. 1

Where: 597 Barnsley Gardens Rd, Adairsville

Visitors of this light show will see the historic 1800s manor of Barnsley in lights and all dressed up in Christmas decorations. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 5-12; children under 5 are free.

Celebration at the Station at Atlantic Station

When: Now — Jan. 4, 5-9 p.m.

Where: 1380 Atlantic Dr. NW, Atlanta

This free event welcomes visitors of all ages to experience a light show on the Tree in Atlantic Green. The light show happens every hour from 5 to 9 p.m. and it will have snow (artificial, of course).

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Georgia

When: Now — Jan. 1

Where: 275 Riverside Pkwy., Austell

Ride roller coasters in a winter wonderland, enjoy a live musical show and experience a spectacular light show across the park. Single day tickets are $40.

A Country Christmas at Pettit Creek Farms

When: Now — Dec. 30

Where: 337 Cassville Road, Cartersville

Visitors to this light show will travel by vehicle or hayride through the farm filled with twinkling lights and sweet animals. There will even be a visit from Santa and his reindeer. Tickets range from $10 to $45 (for bus).
