How the South Sound’s top high school football recruits performed in Week 5

The South Sound is loaded with Division I-bound talent again this fall.

Here is how the area’s top 10 recruits in the 2023 class and top five recruits in the 2024 class fared in Week 4.

2023 CLASS

WR/DB Jasiah Wagoner, Spanaway Lake — Oklahoma commit did not play in a 42-0 win over Stadium.

QB Gabarri Johnson, Lincoln — Missouri commit completed 15-of-18 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns of 14, 53, 13, 39 and 70 yards, and added 13 carries for 76 yards in a 43-32 win over Bonney Lake.

OL/DL Micah Banuelos, Kennedy Catholic — USC commit played left tackle for a Lancers offense that piled up 400-plus yards of offense, and added two tackles, including one for a loss, in a 40-8 win over Federal Way.

TE/DL Jacob Lane, Emerald Ridge — Washington commit collected five tackles, including two for losses and a 5-yard sack in a 40-12 win over South Kitsap.

QB/DB Dorian Thomas, Kentridge — Oregon State commit is projected as a tight end in college, but is lining up at quarterback for the Chargers this season. Kentridge picked up a 35-6 win over Todd Beamer.

RB/LB Xe’ree Alexander, Kennedy Catholic — Arizona State commit finished with 14 carries for 50 yards and touchdown runs of 3 and 6 yards, added one catch for 8 yards, four tackles, including two for losses and a 36-yard sack, caused two fumbles, recovered one and tipped a pass that led to an interception in a 40-8 win over Federal Way.

WR/DB Andre Jordan Jr., Federal Way — Oregon State commit caught two passes for 31 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown, and added two carries in a 40-8 loss to Kennedy Catholic.

OL/DL Nathan Pritchard, Auburn Riverside — Washington State commit helped Ravens offense pile up 396 total yards, and added a 9-yard sack in a 27-14 win over Kentlake.

RB/LB Leo Pulalasi, Lakes — BYU commit finished with 10 carries for 142 yards, three touchdowns of 23, 1 and 23 yards and a two-point conversion run, and added one catch for 11 yards, six tackles, including two for losses, and a 40-yard punt in a 70-28 win over Silas. Pulalasi’s four-game touchdown total is at 12.

WR/DB David Wells, Lakes — Oregon State commit caught three passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns of 50 and 73 yards, and added two tackles and a pass defended and three punt returns for 110 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown, in a 70-28 win over Silas.

2024 CLASS

RB/LB Brayden Platt, Yelm — Four-star recruit rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns of 25 and 36 yards on nine carries, and added a two-point conversion run, one catch for 24 yards, nine tackles, including one for a loss, in a 63-0 win over North Thurston. Platt’s five-game touchdown total is at 17.

WR/DB Rahshawn Clark, Federal Way — Four-star recruit rushed 10 times and caught two passes in a 40-8 loss to Kennedy Catholic.

WR/DB Malachi Durant, Puyallup — Three-star recruit caught a touchdown pass in a 40-0 win over Rogers.

RB/LB Unterrio Latin-Henley, Washington — Three-star recruit did not play in a 63-14 win over White River.

QB Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Three-star recruit completed 14-of-19 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns of 20 and 65 yards, and added four carries for 14 yards in a 40-12 win over South Kitsap.
