Are South Florida urgent care centers open Christmas weekend? What about pharmacies?
Holiday parties are fun.
But sometimes, you get burned cooking in the kitchen (or a Caja China) or maybe you had too much eggnog and took a swing at someone during a heated dominoes game. Perhaps your kids now have a fever and need medicine.
You might have to visit an urgent care center or stop by a pharmacy for a drug run. But, are these places open on Christmas Eve? What about Christmas Day?
Here’s a look at some South Florida locations:
Baptist Health of South Florida
Baptist Health of South Florida has urgent care centers across South Florida, including in Coral Gables, Doral, Miami Beach, Brickell, Westchester, Country Walk and Weston.
▪ Urgent Care hours:
Christmas Eve: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Christmas Day: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
▪ Urgent Care Express hours:
Christmas Eve: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed

UHealth Jackson Urgent Care centers
UHealth Jackson Urgent Care centers in Country Walk, Cutler Bay, Doral, and Keystone Point are open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. UHealth Jackson’s Urgent Care center in North Dade is open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.

MD Now Urgent Care
MD Now Urgent Care has clinics across South Florida. Holiday hours will vary by clinic.
The MD Now Urgent Care clinics in Kendall and Hollywood, for example, will be closed on Christmas Day while the one on West Flagler in Miami-Dade and the one in Pembroke Pines in Broward will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Memorial Healthcare System
Memorial has two urgent care centers, one in Hollywood and one in Pembroke Pines.
On Christmas Eve, both centers will be open regular hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Christmas Day, the centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Broward Health
Broward Health’s urgent care center in Weston will be open on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be closed on Christmas Day. The center will resume normal hours on Monday.

What about in the Florida Keys?
The Florida Keys have hospitals, urgent care centers, day spas, wellness centers and yes, hangover treatments. Your urgent care center options may be a bit limited this weekend, so you might have to make a trip to the mainland. Here are some of your options:
▪ Advanced Urgent Care of the Florida Keys has locations in Key Largo, Marathon and Key West.
In Key West, the center will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Day. In Marathon and Key Largo, the center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day.
▪ Upper Keys Convenient Care will be closed from Dec. 22-Jan. 1 and will reopen on Jan. 2.
▪ Key West Urgent Care and Family Doctor is closed on weekends.
▪ Florida Keys Urgent Care in Key West closes at 5 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day.
CVS, Walgreens and other retail pharmacies
▪ CVS Health owns traditional CVS stores, CVS y más and Navarro Discount Pharmacy locations.
CVS says that while many of its CVS stores, including 24 hour locations, will remain open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, some pharmacies might have reduced hours. Pharmacies in select locations will also be closed for Christmas.
You’ll have to either call your store or visit cvs.com to check hours of operations.
▪ Walgreens will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve, though pharmacy hours will vary by location. All 24-hour Walgreens locations will stay open around the clock. On Christmas Day, most Walgreens stores will have holiday hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, 24-hour pharmacies will remain open.

▪ Winn-Dixie and Fresco y Más pharmacies will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen on Monday. The stores will be closed on Christmas Day.
▪ All Publix pharmacies will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve. Some close at 6 p.m., others at 7 p.m. Publix is closed on Christmas Day. Publix pharmacies inside hospitals may have different hours of operations.
▪ Walmart pharmacies will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The big box retailer is closed on Christmas Day.
