Another former South Carolina player has found a new home.

Former four-star recruit Eric Shaw announced his commitment to Troy on Wednesday morning, becoming the 15th player to leave the program and land at another school.

Shaw was rated the No. 257 player and No. 7 athlete in the 2020 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Once in Columbia, he split time at receiver and tight end, playing in eight games but never recording a catch.

South Carolina beat Troy last season in a 23-14 victory at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Trojans are entering their first season under new head coach Jon Sumrall, who previously served as the co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach at Kentucky.

USC has lost 18 players to the transfer portal since Nov. 30, though only five of those departures have since committed to Power Five programs.

Shaw is now the second ex-Gamecock to land at a Sun Belt school along with Jahmar Brown (Coastal Carolina).
