REPLAY: South Carolina football score updates vs Vanderbilt: Gamecocks win 47-6

COLUMBIA — South Carolina football kept its bowl eligibility hopes alive with a 47-6 win over Vanderbilt at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.

The victory was the first SEC win for the Gamecocks (4-6, 2-5 SEC) since they beat Mississippi State in Week 4 and their largest margin of victory this season. South Carolina held Vanderbilt (2-9, 0-7) to less than 150 yards both rushing while logging 487 yards of total offense in rainy, cold conditions.

Spencer Rattler went 28-of-36 passing for 351 yards and three touchdowns, and Xavier Legette became the sixth player in program history to record 1,000-plus receiver yards in a season with 120 against Vanderbilt.

The Gamecocks kept the Commodores scoreless until early in the fourth quarter, giving up their first points on a 19-yard touchdown pass.

Fourth quarter

Freshman LaNorris Sellers checks in for the final minutes and scores a 36-yard rushing touchdown to seal the victory. The future is bright for South Carolina post-Rattler.

Spencer Rattler drops a 26-yard dime to O'Mega Blake in the back left corner of the end zone for his third passing touchdown of the day. Another missed extra point shows the weather is still creating a challenge though.

Keenan Nelson Jr. blocks the punt from Vanderbilt's Matt Hayball and recovers for an 18-yard return touchdown. It is the Gamecocks' first special teams touchdown of the season.

South Carolina 27, Vanderbilt 6

The Commodores show signs of life to start the fourth quarter on a 19-yard touchdown pass from QB Ken Seals to WR Quincy Skinner. However, PAT gets doinked, so Gamecocks hold on to a comfortable three-touchdown lead.

Third quarter

South Carolina 27, Vanderbilt 0

Running back Mario Anderson breaks through half of the Commodores defense for a 72-yard touchdown run. It's the Newberry transfer's second 70-plus yard touchdown of the season, and both have come against SEC defenses.

South Carolina 20, Vanderbilt 0

Ahmarean Brown makes up for an ugly drop earlier with a short catch and carry for 24 yards into the end zone. It's his first career touchdown with the Gamecocks. Another clean PAT and South Carolina has a three-score lead.

Second quarter

South Carolina 13, Vanderbilt 0

Quarterback Spencer Rattler carries the touchdown in from the 1-yard line, which was set up by a 30-yard carry from freshman running back Djay Braswell. This time, the PAT is clean.

First quarter

South Carolina has a "thick six" for the second week in a row as defensive lineman Alex Huntley catches the pass from Spencer Rattler wide open in the end zone. Snap is very high on the PAT, so it's no good.
