South Carolina baseball live score updates vs LSU in SEC Tournament semifinals

The losing energy only lasted so long for South Carolina baseball.

After falling to LSU on Thursday night 11-10, the Gamecocks (36-22) got back to their winning ways on Friday with a 6-5 win over No. 3 seed Kentucky. South Carolina is now in the SEC Tournament semifinals at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on Saturday (1 p.m., SEC Network).

Saturday's game is a rematch of the clash between the No. 11 seed Tigers (39-20) and No. 10 seed Gamecocks from Thursday night.

On Friday freshman pitcher Parker Marlatt held Kentucky to one run on two hits, striking out six without issuing a walk in the 3⅔ innings he pitched. Matthew Becker came in during the eighth inning and the Gamecocks held onto their one-point lead in the ninth inning, eliminating the Wildcats (40-14) from the tournament.

The last time South Carolina was in the SEC tournament semifinals was in 2017, when LSU beat South Carolina 11-0. The Gamecocks only tournament championship was in 2004.
