South Bay Marina in Green Bay to launch new boat club membership this month | Streetwise
GREEN BAY − A new boating club is opening at the South Bay Marina on May 11.
The Nautical Boat Club, a members-only group that offers exclusive access to a fleet of boats for a fee, will open its 26th national location at 101 Bay Beach Road, the home of South Bay Marina. This will be the second Wisconsin location. Matt Bauer, general manager of South Bay Marina, said he was excited to bring this franchise to Green Bay and offer a great boating experience and other amenities to its members.
"Besides the swimming pool, we have a couple of pavilions here — we supply fire wood — to enjoy a bonfire by the bay," Bauer said. "We also have several restaurants and a craft cocktail lounge as well."
The Nautical Boat Club membership offers unlimited access to a diverse fleet of boats or yachts, limitless use of a full stock of complimentary water toys and white-glove concierge-style service.
There are a couple of options and packages Bauer said, but the most common is a one-time initiation fee with monthly payments to cover expenses, including insurance and maintenance. The cost of gas is excluded from the package.
"The one-time payment is $6,000 and then $450 a month after that," he said.
Bauer said the membership can be used in any of the 25 locations around the country.
"(Members) just have to talk to the club owner down there and show their membership," he said.
For the grand opening on May 11, Bauer said there will be live music and food and free boat rides.
"If people want to stop by and see things first hand and get around on a boat to see what it's all about," he said. "That's the day to do it."
