Song of the Summer Face-Off: Vote in Round 2 for Your Favorite Sunny Singles of Summers Past

Now that Harry Styles’ “As It Was” has been declared the Billboard Song of the Summer for 2022 — check out the final chart here – we’re taking a look back to 2010 and beyond for the biggest songs of summers past. But which one is your favorite?

In Billboard‘s very first Song of the Summer Face-Off bracket game (vote in round 2 below!), music fans can pick the songs that instantly bring back summer vibes. All these songs ended up in the top 10 on Billboard‘s seasonal Songs of the Summer chart, from Katy Perry’s West Coast anthem “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg (2010’s No. 1), to last summer’s silky-smooth chart-topper “Butter” by BTS.

Both of those songs made it past the first round of voting, as did songs by Lil Nas X (“Old Town Road” and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”), Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello (“Señorita”), Dua Lipa (“Levitating”), The Weeknd (“Blinding Lights” and “Can’t Feel My Face”) and even 2022 champ Styles (“Watermelon Sugar”). Oh, and there’s one very bad battle in the mix for round 2: Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, vs. Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” Or maybe you’d prefer the good fight between Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” and 2017’s No. 1 Song of the Summer “Despacito.”

But that’s just a drop of sand in the beach bucket: There are now 32 songs facing off in our brand-new bracket game. Who will emerge as the Song of the Summer Face-Off champ? That’s up to you. Vote in round 2 below. Voting closes on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 13) at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT, when round 3 voting kicks off and the field is narrowed down to the Sweet Sixteen.
