Solo Leveling English Dub Release Date Announced

Solo Leveling premiered on Crunchyroll almost two weeks ago now, and people seem to have been reacting pretty positively to it so far. So far, two episodes have been released, but both of them have only been available with the Japanese dub and English subtitles. Later this week, you’ll be able to watch the series with a proper English dub.

Crunchyroll has revealed the release date of the English dub for the first episode of Solo Leveling, and it’s actually surprisingly soon: January 20, 2024. That’s this weekend!

Only the first episode of Solo Leveling will be released dubbed on that day, but subsequent dubbed episodes will be released on a weekly basis, with the English dub being roughly two episodes behind the subbed version at all times. That’s a little bit of a delay, and can leave you open to spoilers if you’re not careful, but it’s certainly a lot better than some other series (Pokémon Horizons, I’m looking at you).

Crunchyroll also revealed the English voice cast for Solo Leveling, with some pretty big names attached to the series. Aleks Le – best known for his role as Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer – is taking the lead as Sung Jinwoo, with Ian Sinclair, Christopher R. Sabat, Michelle Rojas, and Sungwon Cho, among others, joining the production in supporting roles.

Here’s the full list English voice actors for Solo Leveling:

  • Aleks Le as Sung Jinwoo

  • Justin Briner as Yoo Jinho

  • Rebecca Wang as Sung Jinah

  • Michelle Rojas as Cha Hae-in

  • Ian Sinclair as Choi Jong-in

  • Christopher R. Sabat as Baek Yoonho

  • Kent Williams as Go Gunhee

  • SungWon Cho as Woo Jinchul

  • Dani Chambers as Lee Joohee

We had the opportunity to review Solo Leveling’s first two episodes ahead of its release on Crunchyroll earlier this month, and found it to be packed with potential but slightly lacking in its early execution. A heavy reliance on shock value and gore in the series’ second episode didn’t help much, but there were signs of something better beyond the establishing episodes.

With the third episode set to air this weekend, we’re hoping for something a little more substantial to really cement Solo Leveling as one of the greats this anime season.
