Solar Powered: The top performances in Bucks County area sports last week
Last week, student-athletes across the area eclipsed all expectations by delivering very impressive performances. Check out the top performers in lacrosse, softball, baseball and track & field.
Then, be sure to vote Boys Athlete of the Week and Girls Athlete of the Week polls, beginning Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Top Performances in Track & Field:
Brayden Teufel, CB West
The senior won the boys 400-meter hurdles with a blistering time of 57.96 at the Council Rock Kiwanis Invitational. His time is the best in the state of PA this season.
Katelyn Schulman, Villa Joseph Marie
She took first place in the 200-meter dash in Saturday’s AACA meet, with her time of 22.32 clocking in as the top time in PA this season.
Lanae Carrington, Harry S. Truman
The speedy senior won the girls 400-meter hurdles at the Kiwanis Invitational, with her time of 1:06.25, which is also the top time in PA in the event this season.
Victoria Angelo, Pennridge
She holds the best time in the state in the girls 300-meter hurdles, finishing in 44.36 in a meet against CB South.
Destini Smith, Souderton
She took first place in both the girls triple jump (40-7) and the long jump (18.2.75) at the Cardinal Invitational. Her mark in the triple jump is tops in the state this season.
Top Performances in Girls Lacrosse:
Katie Pennekamp, Abington
She scored seven goals and had six draw controls in an impressive effort in a win over Cheltenham, and had four goals, nine draw controls and two assists in a victtory over Hatboro-Horsham.
Annalise Messina, Upper Moreland
The junior continued her torrid offensive pace, scoring 10 goals and assisting on two more in a win over Lower Moreland. She had seven goals and three assists in a win over Upper Merion.
Mia Popovich, Pennsbury
She netted five goals and two assists in a win over CB South.
Paige Dougherty, CB East
She scored five goals and assisted on one more in a 15-10 win against Souderton.
Addy Geary, CB South
The junior scored eight goals and assisted on three more to lead the Titans to a 19-12 win over Souderton.
Top Performances in Boys Lacrosse:
Chris Glover, Harry S. Truman
In his ninth game of the season, the senior scored his 35th goal of the year, breaking the school’s record for goals in a season. Glover scored three goals in the game against CB South.
Keith Conner, CB South
The senior led the way with five goals and two assists, scoring his 100th career point along the way, in the Titans’ 12-6 win over Plymouth Whitemarsh. He followed up with a two-goal, five-assist game in a win over Truman, and had two goals and two assists against Pennridge.
Liam Dudley, CR North
Dudley dished out five assists to help the Indians defeat Pennsbury 8-6 in an SOL National game.
Paul Fell, Upper Moreland
With five seconds remaining in the fourth, Fell scored the game-tying goal to force overtime against Hatboro-Horsham. He finished with five goals in the 10-9 win.
Aidan Tuffy, Upper Moreland
Tuffy scored the game-winner in overtime, giving the Golden Bears an impressive come-from-behind win over Hatboro-Horsham. He finished with two goals and two assists in the win.
Landon Amorim, CB South
He led the way with seven goals and one assist in a win over Harry S. Truman.
John Martin-Vince, Souderton
The senior rallied his team to a thrilling OT against CB West, scoring two late goals to tie the game and force overtime, and then scoring the game-winner. He finished with 5 goals and 1 assist in the 12-11 win. He had two goals and five assists in a win over Truman.
Cole Catalano, New Hope-Solebury
The freshman goalie recorded 14 saves in an 11-5 win over Quakertown.
Matt Jacobsen, CB West
He scored three goals and won 12-of-14 faceoffs in the Bucks’ win over North Penn.
Top Performances in Softball:
Brianna Slack, Bristol
The sophomore pitched five innings, giving up one hit and striking out 11, and drove in two runs at the plate in an 11-1 win over Calvary Christian.
Peyton McClain, Bristol
The freshman continued her strong start, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in a victory over Calvary Christian.
Brooklynn Lucas, Palisades
In the top of the 11th inning, Lucas drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run single to give the Pirates the win over Pen Argyl.
Karlye Teman, Palisades
The Pirates’ ace was in the circle for 11 innings, giving up just five hits, and struck out 22 batters in an impressive effort to secure the extra-innings win over Pen Argyl.
Ava Storlazzi, Pennsbury
Her single in the top of the seventh drove in the go-ahead run, plus one for insurance, to give the Falcons an 11-9 win over CR North. She went 4-for-4 with a walk and four RBIs.
Anna Evanchik, Pennsbury
She went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI, and earned the save by pitching a perfect seventh inning in an 11-9 win over CR North.
Natalie Kelley, Gwynedd Mercy
She had two hits and drove in two runs to help the Monarchs edge Merion Mercy 4-2.
Adriana Williams, Morrisville
The sophomore had two hits and drove in six runs for the Bulldogs in a win over Lincoln Leadership.
Allison Siegfried, Archbishop Wood
She was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the Vikings win over PCL opponent Neumann-Goretti.
Julia Yogis, Archbishop Wood
The Vikings’ leadoff hitter went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 5-0 win against Villa Joseph Marie.
Graciene Gale, Archbishop Wood
She pitched a gem, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out four in a complete game shutout against Villa Joseph Marie.
Riley Theis, CB South
The junior gave up five hits and no earned runs while striking out seven to earn the win in a 3-2 battle against Souderton. She picked up another victory against Pennridge, allowing six hits while fanning 10 batters.
Averi Dockery, Pennridge
The junior crushed two home runs to help the Rams secure a 3-2 win over Truman.
Destiny Novashinski, Pennridge
The pitcher went the distance, giving up only three while striking out 11 to earn the 3-2 win over Truman.
Sienna Lawson, CB West
The senior gave up just four hits and no earned runs while striking out six to help the Bucks down rival CB South 4-1.
Morgan Volgraf, Neshaminy
She hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to give Neshaminy their first win of the season against Bensalem.
Molly Ambrosius, Neshaminy
The sophomore gave up just two hits while striking out 11 through seven innings to help Neshaminy secure its first win of the season against Bensalem.
Makayla Mihelic, Souderton
The catcher hit a home run as part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate, which also included a double and four RBIs in a win over Bensalem.
Bella Nunn, North Penn
The senior didn’t allow a hit through five innings while striking out 13 in an abbreviated 14-0 win against CB East. At the plate, she crushed a three-run home run. Against Pennsbury, she earned the win in a complete-game effort where she struck out 8 and gave up one earned run and hit another home run.
Dagny Mobley, New Hope-Solebury
The freshman had a standout performance against previously unbeaten Upper Moreland. She pitched four innings, giving up four hits while striking out 5 to earn the win in the circle, and had a big day at the plate with two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs.
Mabel Klossner, New Hope-Solebury
The freshman went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and also pitched three innings, giving up two hits while striking out five, to earn the save in a huge 7-3 win over Upper Moreland.
Abbey Wagner, Quakertown
The Panthers’ ace gave up 3 hits while striking out 10 in a 10-0 win against Abington.

Austin Kreyenhagen, Souderton
The pitcher threw a complete-game no-hitter against CB West, striking out 15 and allowing just one walk, in the 4-0 win.
Chase Fulford, CB East
The junior had an afternoon to remember against North Penn, hitting a pair of home runs and driving in 7 runs in a 14-3 victory over North Penn.
Sam Greer, CB West
Greer had a dominant outing on the mound, striking out 11 in a 5⅓-inning shutout, and helped himself at the plate with a pair of doubles in the win over CB South.
Peyton Shaw, CR North
The junior gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out 8 to earn the win in a 2-1 pitchers’ duel against Pennsbury.
David Vozzo, La Salle
The senior went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a 5-0 victory over Springside Chestnut Hill.
Nick Simons, Upper Moreland
The sophomore threw a no-hitter and struck out 11 in a 5-1 victory over Abington. He walked four in his 102-pitch outing.
Luke Sword, Upper Moreland
The sophomore gave up just two hits and an unearned run in 5⅓ innings to help the Golden Bears edge New Hope-Solebury 3-1.
Anthony Trommer, Neshaminy
The senior crushed a grand slam over the center field wall in Neshaminy’s win over Truman.
Cubby Bailey, Archbishop Wood
The sophomore hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Vikings a 5-4 win over Lansdale Catholic.
Dan Grosch, Lansdale Catholic
The sophomore went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in a 9-4 win over PCL opponent Cardinal O’Hara.
Brady Guzzie, Conwell-Egan
The freshman threw five strong innings, giving up a single hit and two walks while striking out five to earn the win against Archbishop Ryan.
Cole Guy, Bristol
The sophomore had a standout game on the mound and at the plate, pitching four innings without giving up a hit and striking out nine, while driving in three runs and stealing a pair of bases in a win over Plumstead Christian.
Nathan Gilson, Harry S. Truman
Gibson was on base all four times he came up to bat, drawing three walks and hitting an RBI single against Pennridge. He also stole a pair of bases to help the Tigers win their first game of the season, 9-4.
Cole Incudine, Hatboro-Horsham
The sophomore was 4-for-4 with a double and one RBI against New Hope-Solebury, and also scored three runs and stole a base in the 10-8 win.
Jackson Archibald, William Tennent
Archibald went the distance against Wissahickon, giving up six hits and one walk while striking out seven in the 2-1 victory.
Keller Bradley, Pennsbury
Bradley pitched a shutout through 6⅔ innings to lead the Falcons to a 3-0 win over North Penn. He allowed just four hits and struck out eight.
