Wednesday, May 1

North Hunterdon 4, Immaculata 3 (8 innings: Samantha Dougherty continued to rake, going 5-for-5 with a double, homer and four RBIs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the eighth inning and North Hunterdon (11-6) notched a crucial Skyland Delaware win. Layla Francisco allowed three runs on eight hits for the win, walking none and striking out six. Alexandra Hsu pitched in two hits for the Lions. M ollie Ferreira finished with three hits, a run and an RBI, while Marli Szierer singled, homered and drove in two runs for Immaculata (11-3), which had beaten North 2-0 in their first meeting. Caroline Colitti surrendered just three earned runs on seven hits, walked three and fanned eight for the Spartans.

Bridgewater-Raritan 2, North Brunswick 1: Jaelyn Madison allowed a run on three hits, walking five and striking out three, and Angela Tremarco picked up a doubled, homer and scored two runs and Bridgewater-Raritan picked up a nice non-conference win. Evelyn Fresco singled and scored a run in the victory, as the Panthers improved to 6-14. Jordan Tarabokia allowed just two runs on four hits and a walk, fanning five for the Raiders (12-4), who got a single and an RBI form Juliana Williams.

Spotswood 5, Colonia 1: Ava Mormile allowed a run on one hit, walked four and struck out 11, and Juliana Ziegler went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Spotswood moved to 14-2. Mormile, Isabella Vitale and Hanna Brown each pitched in two hits and an RBI for the Chargers. Hailey Conklin drove in a run and Lyela Nieves singled for Colonia (10-7).

Montgomery 12, Manville 2 (5 innings): Lauren Tortolani singled, doubled, tripled and drove in four runs, while Charlotte Spina singled, scored twice and knocked in three runs and Montgomery picked up the interdivision win. Chloe Fitzpatrick chipped in two hits, a run and an RBI for the Cougars (2-11), allowing one earned run on seven hits, walking one and striking out three for the win. Valentina Barrios doubled and drove in a run, while Madison Byra singled and knocked home a tally for Manville (0-11).

St. Thomas Aquinas 6, Monroe 3: Hailey Krainski singled and drove in two runs, while Sophia Colucci singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in a run to spark St. Thomas (11-5). Liz Negron earned the win, allowing no earned runs on six hits, walking one and striking out 11. Brielle Zarsky singled, doubled and drove in two runs and Monica Bukowczyk singled and scored twice for the Falcons (5-7).

Pingry 5, Warren Hills 3: Pingry scored all its runs in the bottom of the second inning, erasing a 3-0 deficit and holding on for the Raritan Division win. Ellie Solomon started the uprising with a two-run single for the Big Blue (8-6), before Saniya Tariq singled in the tying run. Taylor Francis then blasted a two-run home run to give Pingry the lead for good. Casey McKeon allowed one earned run on six hits for the win, she walked three and struck out eight. Gianna Marinelli singled twice, scored a run and drove in another, and Jalecia Stoddart and Quinn Johnson added RBIs for the Blue Streaks (7-4).

Governor Livingston 14, Westfield 2 (6 innings): Gianna Basile picked up two hits, two runs and five RBIs, and Paige Drennan pitched in two hits and three RBIs to help fuel Governor Livingston (14-4). Chelsea Kiesewetter singled and doubled in the win, earning her 100th career hit along the way. Quinlan Doherty posted three hits and Naomi Kamins singled twice, scored a run and drove in another for Westfield (9-7), which played without its ace, Bella Scipioni, on Wednesday.

New Providence 5, Kent Place 1: Annie Conover doubled, scored a run and drove in another, while Carys Lee added a double and an RBI to help power New Providence (11-3). Caroline Apicella allowed just one unearned run on four hits, walked one and struck out 13 for the win.

Union Catholic 11, Union 10: Sarah Potts homered and drove in four runs and Hannah Buniak notched three hits, two runs and three RBIs and Union Catholic rallied for a wild win in Scotch Plains. The Vikings (7-9) fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, but retorted with six tallies in the bottom of the frame to go up 6-3. Union hit for three runs in the top of the fourth and four more in the fifth to go up 10-6, but the Vikings scored twice in the bottom of the fifth and then twice in the bottom of the sixth to tie it, before notching the winner in the bottom of the seventh. Kathryn Price pitched in a single and two RBIs and Bella Donnelly went for a single, triple, three runs and an RBI in the win.

Franklin 2, Perth Amboy 0: Josslyn Siejeck twirled a two-hit shutout, walking one and striking out three, and April Ho doubled and drove in a run to propel Franklin (11-5). Casey Gomez Miranda and Mia Sanchez-Balzac each singled and scored a run for the Warriors. Kiarelys Santiago Soto doubled and Angelina Belliard singled for the Panthers (5-9).

Timothy Christian 30, Perth Amboy Magnet 13 (6 innings): Kara Spivey finished with five hits, three runs and seven RBIs and Anya Wildgoose singled, homered, scored four runs and drove home five and Timothy Christian got into the win column in a barnburner. Holly Medina helped out with two singles, a triple, three runs and four RBIs, while Lavey King totaled three hits, including a triple, four runs and three RBIs for the Tigers (1-9). Perth Amboy Magnet is 0-12.

Dunellen 19, New Brunswick 11: Rose Ciccolella went 5-for-5 with a double, three runs and three RBIs, while Kyleigh Tigue tripled twice, scored three times and drove in three runs to help boost Dunellen (6-5). Kyla Fucito singled twice, walked twice, stole five bases and scored three runs for the Destroyers, while Alyssa Vargas Gonzalez added three hits, three runs and two RBIs. The Zebras are 3-8.

Mother Seton 17, Piscataway Magnet 9: Victoria Cunha went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Katelynn Moses notched three hits, two runs and two RBIs to send Mother Seton (11-1). Anna Maliakal helped out with a single, two walks, three stolen bases, two runs and two RBIs for the Setters. The Raiders are 2-9.

Carteret 23, Highland Park 4: Trinity Bernadino walked twice and slugged three home runs, while Cienna Diaz added three hits, including two doubles, two runs and four m ore RBIs and Carteret closed it out with 11 runs in the top of the seventh inning to improve to 6-9. Mariah Muniz singled, tripled, scored four times and drove in three runs, while Kaelynn Chalfant added two hits, two runs and three RBIs for the Ramblers. Gloria Sanchez allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk, fanning two for the win. The Owls fell to 10-2.

Calvary Christian 17, Wardlaw-Hartridge 0 (4 innings): Giselle Rodriguez singled, doubled, walked, scored twice and drove in four runs, and Elyssa Ortega went 3-for-3 with a walk, three runs and three RBIs and Wardlaw-Hartridge rolled to 12-2. Sophia Riccio walked three times and scored three times in the win.  Riccio (3 IP, 1H, 9K) and Kacey Marmolejos (1 IP, 2H, 2K) combined on the shutout. Calvary Christian is 2-6.

Roselle Park 17, Mount St. Mary 4 (5 innings): Anna Ziccardi doubled and homered, driving in two Mount St. Mary runs, but the junior ace not pitch Wednesday. Isabella DeLuca doubled, scored a run and drove in another for the Mount Lions (6-6).

Summit 7, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2: Maddie Bogart went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, while Olivia DiSalvo added a single and an RBI for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (9-5).

Oak Knoll 6, Rahway 2: Amanda Lebers and Jaylynn Soto each singled and drove in a run for Rahway (5-7), which also got two hits from Jenna Maher.

Roxbury 2, Hunterdon Central 1: The Red Devils fell to 6-8, despite outhitting Roxbury 4-2.

HUNTERDON/WARREN/SUSSEX TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND

Voorhees 6, Hopatcong 2: Ava Zielinskie allowed no earned runs on five hits, walked four and struck out four, and Susan Hockenbury collected three hits, including a home run and 12th-seeded Voorhees advanced. Avalyn Stayskal chipped in three hits, two runs and two RBIs, while Christina Sullivan notched three hits, including a triple, and two runs for the Vikings, who will visit fifth-seeded North Warren in Saturday’s second round.

Phillipsburg 12, Belvidere 2 (6 innings): Shantalina Blake singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs, and Sara Segeda went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and 10th-seeded Phillipsburg rolled into the second round and a Saturday trip to seventh-seeded Delaware Valley. Riley Santos doubled twice, scored twice and drove in two runs in the win. Madyson Denker singled and drove in two runs for 19th-seeded Belvidere.

Vernon 6, South Hunterdon 2: Anika Balog notched two hits and an RBI, while Danella Silagy doubled twice and scored a run, but 13th-seeded South Hunterdon fell to the No. 16 seed.
