SNL: Dua Lipa to Host May 4 Episode and Serve as Musical Guest

Dua Lipa will be pulling double duty on Saturday Night Live next month: The pop singer will host the May 4 episode and also serve as musical guest.

The news was announced in a promo during this Saturday’s SNL, hosted by Ryan Gosling with musical guest Chris Stapleton. (Grade this week’s episode here.) The show also posted the news on social media:

This will be Dua Lipa’s first time hosting SNL, but she has appeared as the show’s musical guest twice before: in 2018, with host Natalie Portman, and in 2020, with host Kristen Wiig. (Dua Lipa has also recently made acting appearances in films like Barbie and Argylle.) Known for chart-topping dance hits like “Don’t Start Now” and “Levitating,” Dua Lipa will release her third studio album, Radical Optimism, on May 3 — the day before her SNL episode airs.

After Dua Lipa’s episode, SNL will have just two more episodes left to air this season, with the May 18 installment serving as the season finale. Hosts and musical guests for the final two episodes have yet to be announced.
