Slower than normal traffic on some Dallas-Fort Worth roads. Here’s where the slowdowns are

As temperatures warm and more vehicles take to the highways Friday, motorists can expect to see slower than normal traffic on some North Texas roads.

The TEXpress lanes, designed to reduce congestion on local highways, closed Jan. 30 at the onset of the winter storm. A message on the company’s website says the lanes are closed until further notice. It’s not clear when the lanes will reopen, and an official from TEXPress could not immediately be reached.

Google Maps was reporting slower than normal traffic on Interstate 35 West with delays of around 19 minutes as of 2 p.m. There were also two slowdowns on I-35W South with delays of anywhere from 15 to 18 minutes being reported.

At the same time, a slowdowns on I-35 W North was causing a seven-minute delay and a slowdown on I-820 East was causing a nine-minute delay.
