Apple TV+ has released the first-look images of Slow Horses season 3, as well as confirming the release date.

The espionage thriller, featuring The Dark Knight trilogy's Gary Oldman, will continue to delve into the world of how the British Security Services try and do their jobs while held back by corruption, indifference and endless red tape from the powers-that-be above them.

Season 3, which adapts Mick Herron's novel Real Tigers (the third in the Slough House series), will premiere on December 1 with the first two episodes.

It will then drop one episode every Friday, with the finale coming on December 29.

Season 3 will follow the events of the novel — with the exception of Freddie Fox's James 'Spider' Webb being back in action rather than in a coma — so if you've read it, you'll know that it involves a main character getting kidnapped and the possibility of another crashing a London bus into a mansion.

A fourth season was also greenlit alongside the third, and considering that the show films two seasons back to back, hopefully we won't have to wait long for even more episodes as we go into next year.

To make the thought of season 4 even more exciting, The Lord of the Rings and V for Vendetta legend Hugo Weaving will be part of the cast, as will The Thick of It's Joanna Scanlan.

Seasons 5 and 6 are highly rumoured as well, so if you're looking for something meaty to get into, this may be the show for you.

Slow Horses will premiere its third season on Apple TV+ on December 1, and drop new episodes every Friday throughout the month.
