SJP Just Rocked A Pair Of Dr. Scholl's During 'And Just Like That...' Filming

And just like that...Sarah Jessica Parker has sparked an unlikely shoe craze.
On May 20, the actress was spotted wearing a massive Maryam Keyhani cloud hat while filming season 3 of the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That..., a 'fit that immediately went viral online. But in the scene, SJP's Carrie Bradshaw—a character who's perhaps best-known for her obsession with candy-colored Manolo Blahniks—paired the accessory with a very sensible shoe: a pair of Dr. Scholl's sandals.
Of course, Carrie has been known to sport some out-there items. Exhibit A: The pigeon purse. (Exhibits B-Z are now streaming on Netflix.) Plus, fans will always have a special place in their hearts for this plaid green belt, which was perplexingly placed on her bare midriff in season 4.
But her shoes have always been designer—until Monday. That day, SJP posted the new look online, showing off the gingham hat, a long vintage dress, and a white pair of Dr. Scholl's Original Sandals.
“I remember wearing these shoes back in the days ❤️❤️” commented one follower. “OMG! Dr. Scholls!! Finally something we can relate to in footwear!!!” another added.
The sandals are comfortable and chic, with a wooden clog bottom and a white leather buckled strap to keep your foot securely in place. They've been around for years—in fact, shoe lovers will recognize them as a refreshed design of the podiatrist-founded brand's 1959 release.
The shoe—which used to be known as the "exercise sandal"—was originally designed with a contoured footbed that made your toes "hang on," toning your legs in the process, per New York Magazine. Now, Dr. Scholl's has done away with the toe bump, leaving a smooth, easy surface for traipsing all around the West Village.
This isn't the only iconic moment the brand has had recently. Dr. Scholl's is having a bit a moment, thanks to SJP and recent collabs with big fashion houses like Burberry, Kate Spade, and Issimo.
