6 Granville boys players lead Mid-Ohio Lacrosse League selections

COLUMBUS — The Granville boys lacrosse team had several players honored for their play during a season which continues Tuesday.

No. 4 Granville visits No. 2 DeSales for a Division II, Region 7 semifinal at 7 p.m. The Blue Aces beat No. 5 Columbus Academy 10-9 last Wednesday to advance.

Six Granville players received first-team honors from the Mid-Ohio Lacrosse League. The league in its first season of competition also includes Johnstown, Licking Valley, Bexley, Academy, Jonathan Alder, John Glenn and Buckeye Valley.

Leelan Durham at defenseman, Zach Gee at face off, Beckett Long at midfielder, Maxton Messner at attack, Noah Musick at short stick defensive middle and Matt Rosen at long stick midfielder have been named to the first team.

Named to the second team are Granville’s Elliott Rhoton at attack and Valley’s Dylan Dean at defenseman. Granville’s Hart Miller at attack, Johnstown’s Will Taylor at midfielder and Valley’s Connor Paul at midfielder have been named to the special mention list.

Granville’s Rory McShane, Johnstown’s McKaden Thomas and Valley’s Cody Kochur received sportsmanship awards.
