Firm owner Jennifer Sitterley said she was surprised and grateful to win the award.

"I'm thrilled for my team because they really deserve it," she said.

The firm focuses on elder law which consists of estate planning, probate issues and asset protection when long-term care is a factor. Sitterley started her business in 2019 and it's located in the downtown Mithoff building at 166 W Main St. Suite 201.

"We've certainly grown," she said. "We've felt the baby boomer demand. I think along with the baby boomers aging we've also seen the retirement of some estate planning attorneys. So it has increased the demand for those of us who are still working."

The business has six employees and will soon add a seventh. The employees are mostly paralegals, along with an administrative assistant. It also features a law school intern.

Sitterley has been an attorney since 2009.

"Anyone who knows my family history knows that my family is very heavily into the law field," he said. "However, I tried to be an accountant first. And I quickly discovered that while I love numbers, you did not get the interaction with people on a daily basis in the capacity where I worked previously. So I love that this area of law blends numbers and working directly with people."

The chamber's trade show will precede the awards banquet and will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Fisher Catholic.
