Sims 4 update adds Native American representationEA

The Sims 4's latest base game update is out, with a number of Native American items being introduced.

The patch, which can be downloaded now for free, coincides with this week's launch of the Horse Ranch expansion, which also features elements that reflect the culture of Indigenous People in America.

In the update, three hairstyles – Double Braid, Single Braid, and Lengthened Hair – have been added, while the Three Sisters Chili food recipe can be cooked. The three crops in Three Sisters are squash, corn, and beans.

Elsewhere, there are new eye presets for East Asian Sims, along with new brows.

For a number of years after the game launched, it was difficult to create authentic-looking East Asian Sims due to a lack of decent eye and skin tone options. In 2020-2021, we saw the introduction of skin tone sliders and a selection of East Asian eye presets that helped to rectify this problem, and for the developer to continue adding CAS options specific for East Asian Sims is really welcome.

Three new under-eye bags have also been included in CAS mode as part of this update.

Meanwhile, Build Mode has received some really nice updates, the most notable of which are paintable ceilings.

That's right, ceilings don't have to stay white any longer. With this update, you can paint all ceilings by tile or by room, with the 'Floor Patterns' option now renamed to 'Floor and Ceiling Patterns'.

Free Camera mode has also been added to Build Mode – so you can get a close-up of what your ceilings look like – along with a number of new colour variants for existing wood, stone, and brick floor patterns.
