Simone Biles Explains Why Taylor Swift Selfie Didn't Happen at Chiefs-Packers Game

When Simone Biles isn't off breaking records as a world-renowned gymnast, she has been enjoying life as a newlywed, supporting her husband Jonathan Owens at his team's football games.

But when fans realized that Biles and singer Taylor Swift were at the same football game at the start of December, some fans were bummed that they didn't take a photo together. In a new interview, Biles explained the understandable reason that the meet-up never happened.

Biles opened up about her life lately in a new feature for Vanity Fair, saying succinctly that "there was no selfie" with Swift at the game between the Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs, Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce's team, on Dec. 3.

Part of the reason was that both Biles and Swift were there to support their partners, with Biles saying, “It’s a little bit weird because I’m like, This is definitely not my gig...But I know how excited [the fans] are."

The other part was simple logistics, as the two were not sitting near each other in the stadium. Biles then added, "and I’m not sure they were exactly happy that the Packers were beating them.”

The Packers ended up winning the game, which took place at their home stadium in Wisconsin, with a score of 27 to 19. Swift was spotted cheering for Kelce alongside Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

While a photo of Biles and Swift didn't happen this time, the two women are likely to be at future football games, and with any luck, fans will get their selfie together one day.

Biles marked the Packers' win on Dec. 3 with some sweet photos of herself and husband Owens, who is a safety for the football team. In the shots, the couple walked happily hand in hand, with Biles captioning it, "walking into monday victorious 🏈👀."

Alongside their successful careers, the happy couple is also building a house together as the next big step in their relationship, with Biles keeping fans updated with all the ups and downs of the process.
