Signup begins May 30 for Marvin Memorial Library's Summer Reading Program

The school year is winding down and Marvin Memorial Library in Shelby is gearing up for its Summer Reading Program.

The theme is "Adventure Begins at Your Library." All ages can sign up online this year.

Sig-up begins May 30 with a party in the Kerr Garden Room and will end with a Block Party and Cruise-In July 19. All ages will have weekly prize drawings and grand-prize drawings, earning prize slips for each item they check out at the library, for attending events and programs and for completing passive programs.

Adults will receive an Adventure Passport that lists 20 library adventures they may complete. Children will receive a reading log, and when completed they receive a completion certificate with money-saving coupons, a free book and a raffle slip to put in the prize drawing bear. They will also receive a bingo card to complete for a free coloring book prize and a ticket to a party at The Children's Buckeye Museum July 18. Teens will participate in a variety of programs and activities which include a scavenger hunt and a short story contest.
