Sia Admits to Getting Liposuction to Look 'Crazy Foxy Again' Amid Weight Gain

Sia is once again opening up about going under the knife.

Mere months after showing off the results of her facelift, the “Elastic Heart” crooner is getting candid about undergoing liposuction for a boost of confidence.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the 47-year-old explained that after taking necessary medication “that made me put on a lot of weight that I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds,” she made the conscious choice to go “in for lipo today.”

Her post emphasized transparency so as to not perpetuate a narrative of secrecy around body image issues, as she confessed, “Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise.”

“I want to be truthful about all of my procedures so I don’t contribute to the system that tells us we aren’t enough. I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I’ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues. Pray for me please! I love you, keep going!” she concluded.

This isn’t the first time the pop star, who is known for hiding her face under big bows and wigs while appearing publicly on stage, has gotten liposuction, as she admitted during a 2021 interview with physician and author Gabor Maté that her decision was fueled by her insecurities.

“I’ve had liposuction twice on my chin thinking I had a double chin and it turned out to be muscles that I use to sing,” she stated, adding that she also had a botched liposuction procedure on her stomach.

“I did that to myself because I was so insecure and finally, I’m stopping doing any of that,” she declared at the time.

Back in October, the “Unstoppable” singer took to the stage at the 5th annual Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles to honor her surgeon, Dr. Ben Talei, following a facelift procedure.

Continuing in the vein of transparency and keeping it real, she praised his work, stating, "I got an amazing facelift from Dr. Talei. He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work—and not just for the pop stars of the world.”

Fans poured into the comment section on X to support her, with one stating, “Oh Sia. You are beautiful no matter what you do. But, if this is what you want then as long as you are doing it for the right reasons then good luck with procedure and recovery."

Another user wrote, “We stand with you! Thank you for your honesty and hope you recover well! Sending positive vibes babe," as a third echoed, “Transparency is beautiful. Self-care takes many shapes. Safe ways & amounts of altering appearances to help self-confidence are never shameful. One of the many reasons I admire you!”
