Shots, blocks & boards: Vote for IHSAA girls basketball players of the week (Oct. 30-Nov. 4)
IndyStar will be recognizing the top basketball players in Indiana with our players of the week poll.

Here are the top performers from the past week.
Allie Blum, New Palestine
The senior Kentucky softball commit put together a strong senior soccer campaign and she kicked off her basketball season with a bang, scoring a career-high 23 points in a 59-39 win over Batesville. The youthful Dragons used a 26-point third quarter to pull away.
Hadley Crosier, Lanesville
The 5-9 junior converted 11 field goals (zero 3-pointers) as part of a 29-point effort to lead Lanesville to a 61-50 win over Rock Creek Academy. Crosier also had eight rebounds, eight steals and three assists.
Avery Gordon, Brownsburg
Goodness gracious, Avery Gordon. The Purdue commit poured in 25 points, including the the game-winning bucket in a come-from-behind win over Warren Central in the opener, then dropped 29 in a 78-70 win over North Central in the team's home opener.

Lillie Graves, McCutcheon
The highly recruited freshman announced her arrival Saturday evening by putting up 36 points vs. Cascade in her varsity debut.
Alli Harness, Carroll
The Western Michigan commit started her senior season with a well-rounded performance in a rout of Frankfort: 28 points, eight steals and six assists. Harness and the Cougars return to action Thursday at Sheridan.
Rachel Harshman, Mooresville
Harshman reached the 1,000-point plateau in the season opener vs. Northview, finishing with 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting with a 3-pointer (plus 12 rebounds, two steals and an assist). She had 10 points, seven rebounds, an assist and a steal vs. Bedford North Lawrence.

Denyha Jacobs, Warren Central
The Warriors led through most of Tuesday's season opener vs. Warren Central and it was the 5-8 senior who did most of the damage. Jacobs logged 28 points on 10-of-26 shooting with four 3-pointers, six rebounds, an assist and four steals. (Denell Jacobs had 19 points in the 61-58 loss).
Kenzie Koch, Eastern Hancock
Another freshman who made a splash in her varsity debut, Koch scored 22 points (16 in the second half) vs. Morristown in the opener, then posted 28 points in a 58-38 rout of Rushville on Saturday. Royals vs. sectional foe Triton Central this weekend.
Kaiden Kreinhagen, North Central
The Panthers hung tough with Brownsburg on Saturday and Kreinhagen played a starring role, knocking down six 3-pointers (9-of-11 shooting overall) as part of a 24-point performance.
Maya Makalusky, Hamilton Southeastern
The IU commit christened her junior campaign with a 30-point outburst in a 72-50 triumph over Ben Davis. The Royals host Franklin on Wednesday before hosting an event with Fishers over the weekend (games against Elkhart and Columbus East).
Jordyn Poole, Fort Wayne Snider
The senior Purdue commit eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career on Saturday. She went for 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting vs. West Lafayette and 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting vs. South Bend Washington. The Panthers won both games, with Poole totaling seven 3-pointers, seven steals, four assists and seven rebounds.

Madelyn Poynter, Lapel
The senior chipped in 16 points with a 6-for-7 mark at the line amidst a 50-28 rout of Winchester, then went for 27 points and eight rebounds on Saturday in a 32-point win over Anderson. Lapel travels to North Central on Saturday.

Saniya Smith, Pike
Smith hit five field goals and converted eight free throws as part of a 20-point effort that helped the Red Devils upset Avon in their season opener Thursday night. The freshman point guard also had five assists, five rebounds and a steal.
Faith Wiseman, Indian Creek
The senior wasted no time getting to her 1,000th career point, clearing the milestone amidst a victory over New Albany on Thursday.

Ava Ziolkowski, Crown Point
We have our first 40-point performance of the season, folks. Ziolkowski started the year with a 41-point effort against Hobart. She went for 30 points in a 45-44 overtime loss to Kanakee Valley on Saturday. That's 71 points through two games, folks.
