Shots, blocks & boards: Vote for IHSAA girls basketball players of the week (Nov. 27-Dec. 2)

Congratulations to North Decatur's Maddi Allen on being voted Player of the Week for Nov. 20-25! The junior hit 11-of-18 shots from the field en route to a career-high 26 points vs. Switzerland County. Allen rounded out her line with eight rebounds, four assists and a season-high five steals. North Decatur downed the Pacers, 64-53.

Player of the Week winners will be honored at IndyStar's Indiana Sports Awards this spring.

Here are the top performers from the past week.

Kylie Best, South Decatur

Best registered 21 points (5-for-5 from 3), five rebounds and two assists in a win over Jac-Cen-Del. Best tallied four points, four rebounds, a block and a steal in a loss to Greensburg.

Jaycianna Clark, Herron

The senior collected 16 points, 17 rebounds (eight offensive), an assist and two steals in a 48-18 win over Riverside. Clark shot 7-of-11 from the field with zero 3-point tries.

Grace Fischer, Waldron

The freshman flirted with a triple-double, posting 21 points, nine rebounds, six steals and three assists in a 63-57 win over Greenwood Christian Academy. Fischer had 16 points, four rebounds and a steal against Triton Central on Friday.

Kenzie Fulks, Bethesda Christian

The senior scored 20 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer in the final seconds to beat Lafayette Central Catholic, 46-45. Fulks rounded out her line with seven rebounds and five assists, then added eight points, three assists, three rebounds and a steal vs. Danville.

Kya Hurt, Lawrence North

Hurt tallied 16 points in a 74-61 win over Castle on Saturday, then poured in 21, including the game-winning 3-pointer, vs. Gibson Southern.

Madison Jobe, Purdue Polytechnic

The senior guard led Purdue Poly with 22 points, five steals, three rebounds and a block in a rout of Southwestern. Her performance included five 3-pointers and her fifth consecutive double-digit scoring performance.

Avery Johnson, Columbus North

Johnson returned from the Thanksgiving break by dropping 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting with three 3s, plus five steals and three boards in a win over Shelbyville. The freshman tallied four points, four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block vs. Terre Haute South.

Maya Layton, Faith Christian

The sophomore standout reset the school's single-game scoring record in a 66-54 win over Tri-Central, logging 45 points on 14-of-23 shooting with only one three and a 16-for-21 mark at the free-throw line. Layton, who had 23 points earlier in the week vs. North Montgomery, rounded out her line with three steals, a block and two assists.

Harper Moore, Beech Grove

It was a busy week for the freshman guard and the Hornets, and Moore shined, scoring three well-rounded lines. She had 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals vs. Perry Meridian; 12 points, nine boards, five assists and six steals vs. Shortridge; and21 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal vs. Hauser.

Gianna Morelli, Guerin Catholic

The freshman center logged her third career double-double in a 43-28 triumph over Shortridge, posting 18 points and 12 rebounds. She also had an assist, two steals and three blocks.

Ava Reitmeyer, Bloomington North

After matching her season-high with 20 points in back-to-back weeks, Reitmeyer reset her personal high-water mark with 23 points (10-of-16 shooting) in a 52-50 win over Columbus East. She also had six rebounds and four assists.

Kenadie Schrock, South Bend St. Joseph

The junior logged a well-rounded performance in a 12-point win over Bremen, finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Aniah Smith, Avon

Smith scored a school-record 39 points in a 74-62 come-from-behind win over Plainfield. She hit 15 field goals (three 3s), and rounded out her line with nine rebounds, eight steals and two assists. Smith added 22 points, 12 steals and six assists against Lebanon.

Makenna Strycker, Pioneer

The 5-7 junior guard hit three triples and collected 26 points, to go with six assists, three steals and four rebounds to lift Pioneer to its first win of the season, a 48-45 triumph over Logansport.

Zoe Wheeler, Ben Davis

The senior scored a game-high 21 points and registered five steals to help the Giants secure a 56-48 win over Cathedral. Wheeler notched 13 points, eight rebounds, an assist and a steal vs. Warsaw.
