All-Shore 2024 girls basketball teams: Meet the first, second and third teams

The 2023-24 girls basketball season was filled with championships, historic performances, and great games.

For the 17th time in program history, St. John Vianney won the Shore Conference Tournament. Red Bank Catholic won its first group title since 2017, and Manasquan won its 10th group title in program history. Shore won its third-straight sectional title, while Howell won the first in boy or girl hoops section crown in school history.

NC commit Devyn Quigley became the Shore's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kelly Hughes. Quigley finished her high school career with 2,627 career points. Shore players who hit the 1,000-point mark included Wall's Emily Tvrdik, Shore's Reese Fiore, Southern's Casey Collins, and Mansaquan's Hope Masonius to name a few.

With so much great talent on the Shore, making a list of the top players was no easy task. But here's your All-Shore First, Second, and Third teams.

First team

Nina Emnace, Trinity Hall, Sr.

Season stats: 17.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.6 apg, 4.8 apg through 26 games. The Harvard commit was the main piece for the Monarchs having a historic Shore Conference Tournament run this season. Thanks to Emnace's 21 points per game in the SCT, they made it to the semifinals for the first time in school history before being knocked off by St. John Vianney in overtime. All season long the senior has racked up steals in the backcourt, finished around the rim, and knocked down three-pointers. She performed well against tough Shore teams such as Red Bank Catholic (21 points) and Ocean Township (25 points). She led the Monarchs in points, steals, assists, had a season-high 30 points against Chatham and played the leadership role as one of the few seniors on the team.

Season stats: 10.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.6 spg through 29 games. When looking at the high level of competition the 6-foot-1 sophomore had to face this season, she belongs to be crowned one of the top stretch fours at the Shore. With four double-doubles throughout the season, Lockhart has had to guard some of the best forwards and centers in the state while still finding ways to score. She battled through injuries, which forced her to wear a mask during the season, and still was a force inside the paint. She can either play bully ball inside or use her finesse and soft touch to score on defenders of all sizes.

Season stats: 15.1 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 3.1 apg, 2.2 spg through 29 games. The daughter of St. Rose boys head coach and former Villanova player Brian Lynch, Jada has the potential to be a top-ranked player nationally. As a sophomore, she began to become more of a consistent scorer and rebounder for the Purple Roses. Through their tough schedule, Lynch has scored 23 points against Manasquan in the SCT, dropped a season-high 30 points against SJV, and 17 points in their last game of the season against Rutgers Prep. At the start of the season she played a lot on the post, but began using more of her guard skills towards the end of the season. She uses her 5-foot-11 frame to score inside, can stroke it well from deep with ease, and has a decent midrange game.

Hope Masonius, Manasquan, Sr.

Season stats: 13.2 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.6 steals through 30 games. The Bucknell commit made clutch baskets for the Warriors all season as a senior, especially her performance in the Shore Conference Tournament. Whether it was her game-winning basket in an SCT game over St. Rose, or last minute free throws to put the game away over Red Bank Catholic in the semifinals, Masonius has always showed up big this season. Now with a section and group title, the 1,000-point scorer finished her career as a champion. Masonius led the Warriors in scoring and steals as a tenacious defender while also making finishes around the rim. Oftentimes when the Warriors struggled to find their offense, it was Masonius who was the aggressor with her ability to knife through defenders. Her season-high was 26 points against Paul VI, and she had five double-doubles on the season.

Season stats: 32.6 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 2.5 apg, 3.9 spg through 29 games. The Asbury Park Press Girls Basketball Player of the Year finished her senior season with 948 total points and became the career all-time scorer at the Shore. Aside from shooting 86% from the free throw line, she led the Hawks in points, steals, rebounds, and assists. Quigley got a lot of steals by jumping in the passing lane or just stripping weak ball handlers. Offensively, the senior got the ball to anywhere she wanted on the court and scored thanks to her smooth shot. The 5-foot-11 guard has had eight 40+ games this season, three of which were for 50 points and up. Her season-high was 58 points (a school record) in a win over Ranney back in January where she also had 10 rebounds to go with it. She single-handedly outscored her opponents seven times this season and knocked down 49 three-pointers for the Hawks.

Season stats: 15 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.1 bpg, 2.9 spg throug 31 games. The sophomore was the most consistent player on the Caseys roster, her play didn't wane no matter the level of competition. She had a double-double against Rutgers Prep, 23 points against Manasquan, and 16 points over St. Rose. The 6-foot combo guard scored on all three levels of the floor while also guarding nearly every position. When she caught the ball on the block, she had an array of moves to go into no matter the size or talent of the defender. She was also a pest on defense and a shot alterer for RBC. She finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists over Pope John in the state championship game. She led the Caseys in points, blocks, steals, assists, and boards - she can flat out do it all.
