Shooting in Poughkeepsie leaves man with life-threatening injuries

POUGHKEEPSIE - A shooting in Poughkeepsie early Saturday morning left a man with life-threatening injuries.

City of Poughkeepsie police said officers responded to the area of 444 Main St. shortly before 4:30 a.m. in response to reports of a shooting.

The officers located a 34-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound and began life-saving measures.

The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A part of Main Street was closed for several hours while crime scene technicians processed the area for evidence.

The police department's detective division is following up on several leads.
