Police identify victim of Saturday's fatal shooting near Methodist University

The victim of a fatal shooting near Methodist University has been identified, according to a Fayetteville Police Department news release.

Jonah Taylor, 21, was shot and killed in the 5300 block of Ramsey Street early Saturday, police said.

According to the release, officers responded to reports of shots fired at 3:11 a.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Taylor was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in a personal vehicle, the release states.

Taylor died at the hospital from his injuries.
